HERB APPLE WALNUT PASTRIES
Herb apple walnut pastries that will satisfy you during apple season. These come together in less than 30 minutes and bring together all the seasonal flavors you enjoy during the fall and winter. Filled with crisp apples, fresh basil and rosemary and walnuts they are sure to be a crowd pleaser.
INGREDIENTS:
4 apples
1 cup dark brown sugar
fresh basil
fresh rosemary
1/4 tsp sea salt
2 tsp saigon cinnamon
1 puff pastry
1 cup walnuts
4 tbsp vegan butter
INSTRUCTIONS:
1.Start by cleaning off your apples, fresh basil and fresh rosemary in the sink
2. Chop all your apples and walnuts into small bite sized pieces
3. Get a cast iron skillet or ceramic skillet and place the apples and walnuts inside the skillet.
4. Add in your vegan butter , cinnamon, salt and brown sugar to the skillet
5. Simmer on a low, medium setting so that everything doesn’t burn
6. Use kitchen scissors to add in your fresh herbs
7. Cook down until everything is caramelized and soft
8. Heat up the oven to 350 F
9. Roll out your puff pastries and fill them with the cooled down filling
10. Add the filling to the puff pastries and cook for 10-12 minutes until tops are light golden brown
